How Merci News selects topics, verifies sources, uses AI assistance, labels commercial links and corrects published work.

1. What gets covered?

Merci News covers Korean politics, business, society, technology, culture, beauty and sport. A topic is selected when primary or Korean-language sources, comparable data or local context can add something that a translated headline, press release or product list cannot.

2. Which sources come first?

Primary material comes first: government records, company specifications, research papers, regulator notices and a subject’s own verified statements. Independent reporting is used to test or contextualize a claim. Search snippets and copied summaries are not treated as evidence.

3. How are facts and uncertainty labeled?

Confirmed specifications and dates are stated directly with a link. Reports that have not been confirmed by the subject are attributed to the reporting outlet. Forecasts and editorial judgment use explicit language such as “reported,” “not yet confirmed,” or “in our view.”

4. Where may AI assist?

AI or automated tools may help find candidate sources, organize notes, translate passages for review and shape a draft. They do not decide publication. The editor opens the cited material, checks the claims and links, rewrites where needed, and makes the final decision. Merci News does not mass-publish generated articles.

5. How are corrections handled?

Typos that do not change meaning may be fixed silently. A factual correction, changed conclusion or substantial source update receives an updated date and a clear explanation in the relevant passage. The original publication date is preserved.

6. Do ads or affiliate links affect conclusions?

No. Advertising is separated from editorial content. Affiliate or referral links are labeled near the link or article, and inclusion never guarantees a positive conclusion. Thin product lists made mainly to carry links are not published.

7. Who is accountable?
